Mr. Sauer specializes in Employment and Corporate law. He is an experienced civil trial attorney with a practice focused on defending employers and representing businesses and individuals in commercial litigation. Mr. Sauer has extensive experience counseling employers, advising on best employment practices, and defending employers in litigation.
Mr. Sauer started his career with the Labor and Employment Division of the Litigation Section of the Denver City Attorney's Office where he litigated and advised leaders in technology, law enforcement, corrections, the District Attorney's Office, Denver International Airport, and the Mayor's Office on some of the highest profile litigation matters against the City. Upon moving into private practice, Mr. Sauer represented hospitals, healthcare facilities, physicians, and healthcare practitioners in administrative and civil litigation. He has extensive experience litigating civil rights issues, employment issues, and was lead counsel on a number of class and collective wage hour cases. He brings this wealth of experience in high-stakes litigation to Goodspeed Merrill where his practice focuses on corporate and employment law advising and litigation.
Mr. Sauer obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado College and his law degree from the University of Colorado. He is licensed to practice in all Colorado state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
When not practicing law, John enjoys spending time with his family golfing and in the great outdoors.
