He attended Louisburg College where he received an A.A., magna cum laude in 1975. He earned a B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Wake Forest University in 1977. He received his J. D. with honors from Campbell University in 1980. He was a Delta Theta Phi Member. He was admitted to the North Carolina bar in 1980.

Mr. King is a member of the Craven County Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association (Probate and Real Property Section), American Bar Association (Probate and Real Property Sections) and North Carolina State Bar. In addition, he served as Attorney for Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Bern, Inc. and Attorney for the Town of Dover from 1994 to 1996 and from 1999 to 2002.

Mr. King has been a North Carolina Real Estate Broker since 1979. Mr. King is also a pilot and provides flights on Angel Flight of Georgia, Airlift Hope and Mid-Atlantic Angel Flight.

His areas of practice are Estate and Tax Planning, Commercial and Residential Real Estate, Business and Corporate Transactions, and related litigation.
