About Joseph

Less than half of 1% of all Florida attorneys are board certified Criminal Trial Lawyers - and only a handful are Board Certified in Criminal Trial Advocacy by the NATIONAL Board of Trial Advocacy. Tallahassee Criminal Defense Attorney Joe Bodiford is one of those attorneys. He worked to gain that certification because he believes that clients deserve a defense that is both robust and thorough - and know they have an attorney they can count on.

If you or a loved one has been accused of a crime, life suddenly changes. Tallahassee Criminal Attorney Joe Bodiford believes in using his legal expertise his clients as vigorous a defense as he would provide to his own friends and family. Don’t you want someone not only has the will, but the know-how to defend you in your time of need?

Education and Experience:
Mr. Bodiford earned his B.A. and M.M. from Florida State University and his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law.  He is currently working on an LL.M. degree (Master's in Law) in Trial Advocacy  at Stetson.

He is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education.  He is also Board Certified in Criminal Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

Mr. Bodiford is also a former assistant state attorney for Hillsborough and Pasco counties, where he prosecuted virtually every crime from DUI to murder.

Mr. Bodiford remains involved with Stetson University College of Law as an adjunct professor, where he teaches:
Trial Advocacy
Florida Criminal Procedure
Legal Drafting

He will also be serving as an adjunct professor at the Florida State University College of Law, teaching Advanced Criminal Pre-Trial Practice.
