At Catenaro Law, we concentrate solely on matters of Elder Law & Estate Planning in Northern New Jersey. We serve clients throughout the West Essex area, including Fairfield, North Caldwell, West Caldwell, Caldwell, Roseland, and Essex Fells. We draft wills, trusts, living wills, health care proxies, and powers of attorney. We tailor estate plans to each client's circumstances and goals, addressing complex, evolving federal and state tax laws. We assist senior citizens and their families on matters related to Medicaid and VA qualification, guardianships, special needs, and disability planning. We assist executors and administrators in the probate process. And we protect the estate and its beneficiaries the decedent hoped to provide for after their death if serious conflicts arise, even it that means litigation.

But perhaps the most important thing we provide is good judgment and sound advice that comes from a rare combination of competence, compatibility, and compassion.

Joseph Catenaro, Jr. earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Fordham University School of Law in 2006 and his Bachelors of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College in 2003. After graduating from Fordham Law, Joe joined Lowenstein Sandler as a litigation associate. He served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Donald J. Volkert, Jr., A.J.S.C., and was also a litigation associate at Chasan Leyner & Lamparello. Prior to opening his own practice in 2013, Joe served as the Assistant Essex County Counsel, where he defended the County of Essex against a variety of claims in both state and federal courts. In that capacity, he also supervised and coordinated litigation strategies with outside counsel in high-profile claims against constitutional officers, including the County Executive, Prosecutor, Sheriff, and Clerk.

 Joe is admitted to the State of New Jersey and United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He is a member of the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association.
