Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

This week I represented a medical doctor on charges of malicious destruction of personal property. This client had been arrested over the holidays, being accused of slashing his ex girlfriend's tires during an argument. The penalty was up to 93 days in jail plus fines and costs. Unfortunately for him, the stakes were even higher - as acts against moral turpitude are grounds for removal for those on a work visa. The client was also facing potential domestic violence charges. After working with the prosecution, and fighting for my client's best interest, the charges were dropped in exchange for a simple civil Infraction, and paying for some used tires. The client's record will stay clear, and he will be able to continue to save lives here in the U.S.

How did you build a successful practice?

We built a successful practice by being passionate about our client's rights, and instead of focusing on the bottom dollar, focusing on the best outcome for the person you're trying to help.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Client's should look for passionate representation that is built with confidence and understanding of the law. So many people just want to hear the right words, but a great lawyer will be honest with you and work with you to achieve the best goal possible from beginning to end.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge is a huge part of successful practice, and most lawyers will agree on that. We have found that almost every district court and every circuit court, as well as each individual judge, works a little differently. Therefore, the more familiar with the procedures, likes and dislikes of each locality is very important to your case.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Information that can be provided in a free phone consultation will depend on how many particular facts a client can provide about the case. While no case has a guaranteed result, and no lawyer can guarantee results, a likely outcome can be advised, and more importantly, a quality strategy can be obtained.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

The information needed in a free consultation is at minimum, who the person is and their background, the charges or legal issues at hand, and the geographic location as to where the issue is taking place.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

There are many ""good"" lawyers in the Detroit Metro area, and even some ""great"" or ""super-lawyers,"" but what makes us stand out is our passion to help each individual client and actually treat each client as if they were family. The number one priority is to be fair and honest with every client first and foremost. We are in the business of helping people, not accumulating billable hours.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is when at the end of a case that a client was terribly concerned about, they're so happy with the result and can move on with their lives in a positive direction.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

My interests other than law are audio engineering, film and helping suffering animals.

Are you involved in your community?

In my community we are involved in assisting in the animal shelters and the Goodfellows during the holidays to help deliver food and gifts to the needy.
