About Joseph

Joseph G. McKay (J.D., Touro Law School, 1991; B.B.A., Pace University, 1986) is the Chairman of the firm’s Municipal Law and Municipal Litigation Department.  He brings over fifteen (15) years of experience to the firm in a variety of practice areas including commercial litigation, real estate transactions, and, primarily, municipal law and civil litigation.  Mr. McKay is counsel to several town and village boards including the Town of Wallkill and the Village of South Blooming Grove, as well as Planning Board attorney for the Village of South Blooming Grove.  As lead litigation counsel for the firm’s Municipal Department, he handles Article 75 and Article 78 actions, civil rights actions, prosecution of disciplinary proceedings and state and federal appeals.  In addition to his practice background, Mr. McKay served the public as a New York City Administrative Law Judge, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Agency Counsel for the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission and as a Member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Washingtonville.  He honed his legal scholarship skills as a former Member and Research Editor of the Touro Law Review and as a legal assistant to the Honorable George C. Pratt, Justice of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  Mr. McKay is admitted to practice in New York State as well as the Eastern, Southern, Western, and Northern United States District Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
