About Joseph
Mr. Gibbons is counsel in the Business Department. In his practice he provides consultation and litigation services to clients on bankruptcy, commercial litigation, business law and insurance law matters. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal civil litigation and arbitration proceedings. In bankruptcy proceedings, he represents creditors, debtors and other interested parties.
Mr. Gibbons has extensive experience in matters involving the enforcement of creditors' rights by way of uniform commercial code enforcement proceedings, commercial and residential mortgage foreclosure, and the procurement and enforcement of money judgments. In addition to litigation, Mr. Gibbons utilizes a number of alternative dispute resolution processes including arbitration, mediation and settlement. Such settlements are documented in settlement agreements, loan restructure agreements, forbearance agreements, and loan sale agreements.
In the past, Mr. Gibbons has represented individual and institutional clients in civil litigation involving professional liability, toxic torts, environmental law, personal injury and insurance coverage disputes.
Mr. Gibbons received his Bachelors Degree with dual majors in Chemistry and Computer Science from LaSalle College in 1983. He received his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law-Camden in 1990. He is a former law clerk to the Honorable James R. Cavanaugh, Pennsylvania Superior Court. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and the federal district courts and bankruptcy courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey.
