Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I had a client who had a false CPS called placed because a friend became jealous and made up numerous lies. Unfortunately, CPS calls are not taken lightly and the court investigates every claim put forward. My client was in jeopardy of losing custody because of the babysitter’s conduct. My client’s daughter was her world and I would not stop until I reached an acquittal. After a long, drawn out jury trial, my client was not only given her custody back, but the caller was found out to be an ex-girlfriend of the client’s current partner and as a service to my client, we were able to successfully collect not only the attorney fees, but punitive damages as well. Someone’s family is nothing to take lightly and I fight to the end.
How did you build a successful practice?
I built a successful practice because I treat each and every client as if they were a member of my own family. I am not happy until the client gets the desired results and will not stop until I achieve that. A good lawyer always solves the client’s problem. No matter what the situation is, I always find a solution that makes the client happy. In addition, once the client meets me and is able to see the dedication I put forth, I become their one and only option to legal counsel.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
A client should always seek a lawyer who is knowledgeable, confident, and in control of the situation no matter what circumstances themselves. Clients should never select an attorney who is not willing to put forth the effort, whether it be a full blown trial, or simple negotiation, the effort should be the same as the ultimate goal is to be sure the problem is solved and exceptionally so.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
I always take the time to prepare the case properly and research all local/state laws before the client enters the courtroom. I take the time to network and truly know what it takes to be a contributing member to the legal community. My relationships with the judges, other attorneys, and prosecution are a strong factor in this area. On top of that, I simply live, breathe, sleep, and eat Las Vegas. No other town has the energy and excitement therefore this follows over to my local expertise.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I can tell you how the legal process works, what consequence you may be facing, the options that are available, and a price quote. We charge flat fees only so everything is clear and manageable. Our firm also offers video consultations when necessary, I will get on the phone via FaceTime and/or Skype if the client prefers a more personal approach.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
As much as possible, but to get started, I need the name of the defendant, the city/county charged, the crime that is being charged, and when possible, the case number, however that can be researched. Any necessary or pertinent facts are always appreciated as they make it much easier to give an accurate consultation/plan of action.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I take the time to get to truly know the client therefore I can assess their personal situation and can come up with a strategy to obtain the best particular result for their particular situation. I would treat them no different than I would my sister or any other relative. I realize this is one of the most stressful times of someone’s life and they need to be treated like family to deal with the legal system and feel comfortable. My availability is beyond the scope of 8-5, I answer e-mails and concerns all hours of the day or night. This is not just a job where I open at 9 and close at 5, my work goes where I go.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Many say being an attorney is a “thankless” job, I wholeheartedly disagree. When you are able to resolve someone’s particular situation and they can then resume life as if the legal problem never arose, there is nothing more rewarding than being able to solve their legal problem.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
WSOP/Tournament Poker Player, specifically I have found the skills I have honed in law school and practicing law when it comes to logic, critical thinking, and timed decision making also play out well on the felt. I am also interested in animals and animal rights. But most of all, everything Las Vegas! Nothing compares to the energy and excitement this town provides in entertainment, cuisine, and gaming. There is truly no place in the world that could even compare.
Are you involved in your community?
I am very involved in my community as Las Vegas is my home! I may have been born in Pittsburgh, but Las Vegas will always be my home. I do a select number of pro-bono cases, legal research, and campaign contributions to the judges who oversee my cases on a day to day basis. I also donate time and money to animal shelters and participate in events that promote the causes I believe in, in and outside just the legal community. I offer internships and training to UNLV students as well so they can get a taste of what the real experience is like.
