Joe forged his passion for justice through years representing clients from individual consumers, farmers, and cancer patients to Fortune 100 businesses and corporate executives. He brings to the firm a broad background of litigation experience in practice areas including personal injury, products liability, premises liability, mass torts, insurance bad faith, toxic torts, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and employment law, among others. He is particularly proud of the opportunities he’s had to litigate on behalf of victims of sexual assault against both the perpetrators and the institutions which enable and protect them.

Not long after his law school graduation in 2013, Joseph joined a large Chicago-based law firm where he practiced in a capacity he had not envisioned—defending companies in litigation over claimed defective products, dangerous premises, and toxic torts including asbestos litigation. He gained invaluable insight into the methods and mindset of defense counsel during this time and attended hundreds of depositions across the United States. After many years, he joined a boutique law firm in St. Louis, Missouri where he represented companies, employers, and executives in employment, business, and commercial litigation. He pursued complex matters such as trade secret misappropriation and piercing of the corporate veil to obtain damages from individuals hiding behind shell companies. He also counseled corporate clients directly on internal policies and litigation strategy, through which he learned the tactics a company may employ to defend its interests and avoid liability.

After many years defending against alleged wrongdoing, Joseph felt unfulfilled. Feeling that this practice lacked true purpose, he knew a drastic change was in order. Joe moved to Denver, Colorado, and joined the plaintiff’s bar with a renewed vigor and determination to use his skills and experience to help individuals harmed by those who put profits over people. He joined a small yet nationally renowned firm where he pursued mass torts against pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, and agricultural companies. His passion for fighting on behalf of the “small guy” against the “big guy” grew exponentially as he represented thousands of persons who developed cancer following the use of Roundup weed killer in litigation against Monsanto.

Joe was born in the St. Louis, Missouri area, where lived until graduating high school near the top of his class. He then ventured out of Missouri to study philosophy at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and attend law school at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He also spent a semester as an intern in Washington, D.C., and studied abroad in Florence, Italy, Shanghai, China, and Nice, France.
