About Kaitlin
During her time in law school, Kaitlin worked over 350 hours of pro bono service working on the post-conviction cases of men and women who experienced a manifest injustice or who claimed innocence. She also holds a Master of Counseling degree from Arizona State University, and maintains her license to practice therapy.
Before earning her law degree, Kaitlin earned a master's degree in counseling and she practiced as a licensed therapist. She worked at a court-mandated counseling agency running group and individual therapy sessions for those convicted of domestic violence and drug-related offenses, later becoming the Clinical Supervisor of an offender treatment program and a Program Manager for a government contract. Kaitlin is an advocate for criminal justice reform and is passionate about helping clients who are enmeshed in the legal system.
Kaitlin has experience working on criminal cases involving domestic violence, sex-related offenses, DUI’s, and more. Additionally, she has worked on numerous post-conviction cases and parole hearings. Simone is also a zealous advocate for clients in family court, and has worked on cases involving custody disputes, divorce, and child support.
Kaitlin is admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Arizona. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, the Criminal Justice Reform Team of the Arizona Faith Network, and the Healthy Families Arizona Advisory Board.

Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
One of the most meaningful cases we handled recently involved a father who had been wrongfully cut off from seeing his child for over six months. The odds weren’t in his favor, and temporary orders had already been issued against him. But we knew the full story wasn’t being heard. Through strategic filings, emergency hearings, and a lot of digging into the facts, we were able to restore his parenting time and ultimately secure a long-term parenting plan that prioritized the child’s well-being and both parents’ involvement. It was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.
How did you build a successful practice?
We built DiMaggio Law Office by focusing on people first. From the beginning, we prioritized honesty, communication, and real care for our clients. We keep our caseload small so we can give every case the attention it deserves. That means no rushed responses, no cookie-cutter advice, and no treating clients like just another file. When you focus on doing the right thing, the results and the reputation follow. That’s how we’ve grown, and that’s how we plan to continue.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should look for someone who listens closely, communicates clearly, and fights smart. A good lawyer will be upfront with you about what to expect and won’t just tell you what you want to hear. You want someone who has both the experience to navigate complex situations and the compassion to understand what you’re going through. Legal skill is important, but trust and integrity matter just as much.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge makes a real difference. Every courthouse, judge, and prosecutor can handle things a little differently, and knowing how to navigate those local dynamics helps us position our clients for better outcomes. We’ve handled cases all across Arizona and bring that experience into every courtroom we walk into. Whether the case is in a major county or a rural jurisdiction, we know how to adapt our strategy to the environment.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
During a consultation, we can explain the legal process, review your options, and help you understand what to expect if you decide to move forward. While we cannot provide formal legal advice until you're a client, we can offer honest insight about how we might approach your situation and whether it seems like a good fit for our firm.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
To make the most of a consultation, it helps to know what type of case you have, what’s already happened, and what outcome you're hoping for. We may ask about court dates, prior filings, or other parties involved. The more clear and detailed you can be, the more helpful we can be in return.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
We don’t try to be the biggest firm. We aim to be the most attentive. When you work with DiMaggio Law Office, you get a team that takes your case personally. We’re selective with the cases we accept because we believe in doing things the right way. That means honest answers, real communication, and a firm that treats you like a human being, not just a case file.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The most rewarding part of what we do is seeing the moment when a client finally feels like someone is in their corner. Whether it's a parent regaining time with their child or someone walking out of court with their freedom intact, that impact is real. Helping people move forward with their lives is what makes the work meaningful.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
When I’m not practicing law, I love exploring new places to eat, planning trips, and spending quality time with my family. Travel and good food are my favorite ways to unwind, and I always enjoy discovering something new, whether it’s a local hidden gem or a new destination. Family time is what keeps me grounded and reminds me why I do this work in the first place.
Are you involved in your community?
Yes. We’ve built our practice around being present for the people we serve. That means more than just showing up in court. From helping those who can’t afford full representation to supporting local families and small businesses, we believe in giving back and staying rooted in the communities that trust us.
