About Karl

Karl Kime graduated summa cum laude from Loma Linda University in 1983 with a major in religion and philosophy. He received an MA in philosophy from Claremont Graduate University in 1986, and was approximately 3/4 of the way toward completing a Ph.D. in philosophy when Karl decided to become a lawyer. He went to UCLA School of Law, one of the most well-regarded and prestigious law schools in the country, where he was a member of the UCLA Law Review for two years. Karl has a mediation certificate from the Pepperdine University, Caruso School of Law, Straus Dispute Resolution Institute and was on the mediation panels of federal court in Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Superior Court mediation panel. He taught mediation on the graduate level for three years. He has also done legal work and lectured in a wide variety of areas, including employment, business (formation, contracts, disputes), personal injury, toxic tort injuries, complex insurance coverage analysis and litigation, drafting corporate documents, real estate matters. He practiced for 20 years in the Los Angeles area. He grew up in South California and came to Coeur d’Alene in 2009. Karl has three children and one granddaughter.
