About Karol

Karol Brown is the managing attorney for World One Law Group. She heads the firm's business immigration and asylum department.

Karol received her Juris Doctor (J.D.)  from Yale Law School. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Washington.  

She has taught Immigration Law at the University of Washington School of Law. She founded the Center for Human Rights and Justice at the University of Washington and Seattle University law schools, which enables law students to take on human rights projects for organizations throughout the world. In 2010, Ms. Brown was awarded the Advocacy Award from the national American Immigration Lawyers Association for her work to increase awareness of and promoting the passage of comprehensive immigration reform.

​Karol Brown has served as an attorney in a class action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to prevent the deportation of over 3,000 individuals to Somalia. She served on the Executive Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers of Washington and organized Continuing Legal Education programs for the organization. She has worked with the American Bar Association   and the Center for Human Rights and Justice at the University of Washington to study detention conditions in immigration facilities. Karol has also worked as a Policy and Advocacy Director for Hate Free Zone Washington. In that role, she organized a grass root voter mobilization and media campaign for immigrant communities. She has consulted for governments, non-profit organizations and major corporations, such as Microsoft’s Law and Corporate Affairs, on analyzing processes and implementing solutions.
