About Katie
Ms. Dearing, a native of Jacksonville, received her law degree with honors, as well as her undergraduate degree, from the University of Florida, where her strong advocacy and writing skills earned her a position as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy. After graduating from law school, Ms. Dearing accepted a position as an Assistant State Attorney where she gained extensive jury trial experience in the prosecution of complex cases involving the use of forensic evidence, including murder and financial crimes. Prior to founding The Dearing Law Firm, Ms. Dearing served as a named partner in the boutique litigation firm of Liles, Gavin, Costantino, George & Dearing, P.A.
Ms. Dearing is admitted to The Florida Bar and licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida including the United States District Court for the Northern, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Ms. Dearing is also licensed in and has practiced before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Ms. Dearing is an active member of the Jacksonville Bar Association where she currently serves on the Board of Governors. Ms. Dearing continues her long-standing service to The Florida Bar through her recent appointment as the Chair of the Fourth Circuit Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. While not practicing law, Ms. Dearing enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan, and their two sons.
