About Keith
The law office of Keith B. Schulefand, Esq., provides focused representation in marital law and family law. I have practiced in New York since 1988, and I am also licensed in Florida. I also hold a master's degree (MBA) in business administration, a useful background for the financial aspects of divorce and financial support. Since 1991, I have been in solo practice, representing the Greater Buffalo area and surrounding communities in Erie and Niagara counties.
It is my goal to provide all of my clients with my individual attention. I am readily accessible and easy to talk to. I practice with compassion and understanding, realizing that divorce and family problems are often quite stressful.
My philosophy is that divorce is not a contest to be won, but a problem to be solved. By taking the time to listen to clients' concerns and identify what's most important, I try to guide them to expedient, out-of-court solutions whenever possible. I handle all divorce and family law matters:
- Contested and uncontested divorce, including military divorce
- Asset division and alimony
- Child custody, visitation and child support
- Order of protection
- Paternity, adoption and pre and postnuptial agreements
I make every effort to put clients at ease during these high-conflict and emotional times. I believe that it is important to have a good relationship and comfort level with your lawyer in order to understand your rights and explore your best options.
I also represent my family law clients in other legal matters: real estate, estate planning, probate, business formation and traffic offenses.
