About Kevin

Kevin M. Siegel, Esquire practices law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in county, state, and federal court.

2000’s
In July, 2008, Kevin fulfills his life-long desire to be his own boss and leaves the law firm where he had worked for 11 years. Kevin opens his own law practice and establishes his office in Marlton, New Jersey. Within weeks of making the move, Kevin tries a case to verdict against J.C. Penney and receives a great deal of press coverage. The case was a hard-fought battle that typifies many of Kevin’s cases and took on a “David v. Goliath” theme. As is usual, Kevin refused to be bullied by a large corporation and their big-firm lawyers and wins the case. Kevin and his clients appear on Action News, Fox News and in the Daily News.

Consistent with his philosophy of helping the “underdog,” Kevin does no work on behalf of insurance companies, banking/financial institutions and other large businesses.

1990’s
Upon graduating from law school, Kevin was rewarded with a full time position for the law firm where he had served as a law clerk during his law school tenure. The firm concentrated in defending physicians involved in medical malpractice cases. After working at that firm for a few years, Kevin’s reputation grew and he was sought out to join a national law firm seeking to expand and enter the Philadelphia legal market. It was an opportunity which Kevin could not pass up. Unfortunately, the firm closed its doors during the tumultuous time period when medical malpractice insurance carriers were struggling and some were forced into bankruptcy.

Kevin was offered a position in a mid-sized Center City, Philadelphia law firm in their litigation department. The depth of his practice expands. Kevin’s practice includes the handling of catastrophic personal injury claims, claims against insurance companies for not doing the right thing, i.e.“bad faith” and malpractice claims (medical, legal, accounting and others). Kevin also serves as personal counsel to physicians involved in medical malpractice cases where potential exists for an award beyond the physician’s insurance policy limits. Kevin’s father is a physician as are his two sisters. The depth of Kevin’s expertise and unique background provides him with a special approach to resolving these cases that most other don’t possess.

Kevin practice also includes business/commercial litigation and represents small businesses and individuals who are involved either as plaintiffs or defendants in disputes. Kevin refines his approach to providing top notch legal services with a cost effective approach. Kevin’s cases include representing both homeowners and contractors in disputes, will contests, collection matters, and many other areas in the challenging arena of this type of litigation.

After working at that firm for many years Kevin quickly ascended the ranks and was elected a “partner” in the firm –the youngest partner ever in the firm’s history! Kevin was highly regarded at the firm and his departure was a difficult decision for all.

Questions & Answers

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

A client should strive to look for a lawyer they personally like. The lawyer-client relationship is like any relationship and the basis should be trust and someone who you like. Also, no client should tolerate a lawyer who is not prompt in responding to calls and emails.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I can provide a good idea of whether I think I can be of assistance in a brief phone call. Of course, a more detailed phone call would be needed should the client decide to retain me.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

A brief narrative of the facts of the issue along with the potential parties involved.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I started out my career as a defense attorney working for insurance companies. Because of that, I have a unique perspective on handling cases.

Are you involved in your community?

I am. One activity is that I volunteer as an investigator for the New Jersey District IIIB Ethics Committee investigating grievances and complaints against attorneys.
