Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
A very recent case where our legal strategy made a big difference involved a post matrimonial (case where the parties went back to court after the divorce). My clients wanted to follow a certain strategy that would have been costly, time consuming and in the end ineffective. After reviewing transcripts from prior court proceedings and doing research briefly, I developed a better approach that got the desired result in half the time at half the cost.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should look for an attorney who is able to calmly approach their case and who will give them an honest assessment of their case, including strengths and weaknesses. A client should feel that they can talk to their attorney plainly, and get plain answers, without feeling intimidated by the legal system
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local familiarity can help in certain circumstances, particularly the ability to utilize Judges' staff and Court Attorneys (Attorneys who work for Judges in researching and writing opinions) to assist in resolving cases quickly for parties involved in lawsuits.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
In a 10 - 15 minute phone conference, a potential client should receive a general understanding of what issues need to be dealt with in their case, and what to expect in a general sense from the legal process.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
When a client calls they should have a general understanding of their financial situation and should be sure to include those facts in their case that may be troubling, so they can be addressed in a way that benefits the client.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The most rewarding aspect of my job is to work with clients through the legal problems they face and get them in the best position to get on with, and enjoy, the rest of their lives.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Other interests include playing music (bass), and sports.
