Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

In 2016, I took over a tax case from another attorney. It had been dragged out for over a year and the client was very eager to have it resolved. I made this case my priority and spent weeks helping tie up the loose ends (which in tax cases, means hours pouring over paperwork). The client received a favorable outcome from the IRS and was so thankful for my help. It makes all the difference!

How did you build a successful practice?

I attribute my success to being myself. I am passionate about helping others reach their goals -- whether that's starting a new business, starting a new life or making sure their children are taken care of. I enjoy being a problem-solver, planning ahead, and reading and writing, so when I am practicing law I am doing work that I enjoy. I think my clients appreciate this genuine concern and interest in their case. This also means that I limit the number of cases I take each month, so that I can be available for each client I am currently working with.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

I recommend finding an attorney are comfortable talking to -- can you have a cup of coffee with this person? Do you have a rapport? When you hire an attorney, you will have several conversations/meetings with this person over the course of months or even years. Finding an experienced, knowledgeable and competent attorney is very important, but you will also tell this personal ALL the details regarding your legal situation. If you would feel embarrassed, judged or simply unable to be completely honest, you may not have found the right person for you.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge and a local presence are very important. As lawyers, we all get to know each other over the years and there is respect and kinship among the lawyers and judges that help us all get things done.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

  • Whether or not it is an issue I can help with (or refer to another attorney)
  • Estimated legal services needed
  • Retainer and payment plan options

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

Prior to a phone consultation, I need facts about your case:

  • What is your name and where are you located?
  • What are the issues?
  • Who is involved?
  • What is your ideal outcome?

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Flat fees and hourly rates based on household size and annual income. I started a law firm with the mission: provide affordable and attentive legal services. My goal is to help close the gap for those who currently make too much to qualify for legal aid but cannot afford the average attorney rate in Florida. (Read more at http://kisslegalsolutions.com/mission/) I was also born and raised in Central Florida. I attended Boone High School, Rollins College, and truly value being a part of the Orlando community.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

When I became a parent, I really learned the value of a good nights sleep. I like helping people sleep better at night, knowing their legal issues are on the road to resolution!

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I love being active! In the past ten years, I have run several marathons and triathlons. I play tennis and practice yoga regularly. I also enjoy travelling and doing anything outdoors with my family.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes! I try to be involved with at least one organization each year. I am currently the VP of fundraising for the Orlando Day Nursery, a day care facility providing care for infants - kindergarten for Orlando are working families.
