About Kolet
She has attained significant success rates in helping her clients access the benefits and awards they need and deserve while navigating them through the legal process in a manner that they can understand.
As a recent example of Kolet's dedication, commitment, and ability to succeed, Kolet has been focused on how the Courts should interpret R.C. 4123.56(F), which was enacted in 2020. This law is about getting compensation for injured workers when they are unable to work because of the work-injury they sustained.
After the case was heard at the Appellate Court regarding this very important issue, the Magistrate agreed with Kolet’s arguments in how this law should be interpreted. Then, Autozone appealed that decision to the Appellate Court, en banc, which means three Magistrates instead of one will make the decision on the case. Again, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, en banc, agreed with Kolet’s view on how the law should be interpreted. On behalf of injured workers in Ohio, Kolet has been working rigorously in how this law should apply, which is favorable to all injured workers.
With Kolet’s dedication and diligence, the Court’s decision in State ex rel. Autozone Stores v. Indus. Comm'n of Ohio was a huge victory for all injured workers in Ohio. Because of this monumental decision, injured workers can seek compensation when they are unable to work, on a temporary basis, due to their work-related injury, regardless of their work status right before they were medically deemed unable to work. https://casetext.com/case/state-ex-rel-autozone-stores-v-indus-commn-of-ohio
Recently, Autozone filed an appeal at the Supreme Court of Ohio. Kolet is gearing up, yet again, for the final legal challenge on this very crucial and important legal matter for all injured workers in Ohio.
Prior to all the legal challenges regarding this law, injured workers were not able to seek compensation when they are unable to work due to the work-related injury when certain circumstances apply.
Kolet’s passion and commitment in helping those in need stems from her prior career as a social worker for people with disabilities. Throughout her law school and legal career, she consistently helped people with medical conditions navigate and obtain benefits and resources available.
