About Kyle

A native of Connecticut, Kyle moved to Louisville after attending Colgate University. After working for several years in the then newly created power and gas brokerage markets as a broker of power futures and derivatives, Kyle went on to attend law school with the University of Louisville. Kyle began his legal career with Frost Brown Todd LLC, one of the largest and most respected firms in the region. With Frost Brown Todd, LLC he regularly represented a variety of public and privately held businesses both regionally and across the country. Kyle then joined a Louisville based national real estate development company, Poe Companies, LLC, as General Counsel. At Poe Companies, Kyle was responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of hotel, retail, residential and multi-use projects in Texas, Arizona, Utah, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky and Belize. Some of those projects included the proposed $500 Million multi-use Museum Plaza project in downtown Louisville, Kentucky and the proposed $300 Million mixed-use hotel, restaurant and condo project known as 21C Austin.

Kyle focuses his practice on commercial real estate, corporate and business transactions. His practice includes representation of commercial, shopping center, residential and apartment developers as well as lenders, investors, owners and managers in the acquisition, disposition, financing (including construction financing), development, leasing and management of commercial properties, including office, retail, industrial, apartments, hotels, residential subdivisions and health care properties. In addition, he is well versed in the pre-development process and has represented developers in the negotiation of construction, construction management, architect's and engineer's contracts. He also represents clients, including tenant in common purchasers, in 1031 tax deferred exchanges. His experience as in house counsel for a development company gives him a unique perspective in his representation of developers and owners in zoning and subdivision matters in and around Jefferson County, Kentucky.
