About Lance
Lance E. Palmer is proud that he only represents injured persons, primarily maritime, pharmaceutical claims, product liability, construction site, and automobile collision injury victims. He is admitted to practice in Washington and Alaska, and frequently litigates law suits in both federal and state courts. He has helped several of his clients with catastrophic injuries obtain seven and eight figure settlements and verdicts that allowed them go on to lead comfortable lives. In Larsen v. Farmers Insurance Co., 80 Wash. App. 259, 909 P.2d 935 (1996), he and his injured client created new law allowing motor vehicle injury victims to pursue underinsured motorist claims following an unsuccessful mandatory arbitration against the at-fault driver in superior court.
Lance received his B.A. degree summa cum laude, and his J.D. degree magna cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound, where he was a law review associate editor and author of the article "Curing Washington's Occupational Disease Statute"—cited by the Washington State Supreme Court in Kilpatrick v. Department of Labor and Industries, 125 Wn.2d 222, 883 P.2d 1370 (1994). He has served as a member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers' Trial News editorial board (and a term as its Editor in Chief) and its Legislative Steering Committee, as well as on the Washington State Bar Association's Legislative Steering and Court Rules and Procedures committees. Lance has been accepted by The National Registry of Who's Who as a Life Member, in recognition of his exemplary service, both to community and to profession. For each of the past eight years, his fellow Washington State lawyers have voted him a "Super Lawyer" among personal injury litigators, as published in Washington Law and Politics magazine. He holds the highest "AV" peer review rating from Martindale Hubbell, and the highest "10.0/Superb" rating from the consumer-based AVVO lawyer rating website. He is frequently asked to speak about personal injury law at Continuing Legal Education seminars for other lawyers.
He currently serves as national plaintiffs' liaison counsel In Re: Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1407, in which all PPA cases from federal courts nation-wide have been consolidated for pre-trial proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
