About Laurin
Laurin R. Haddad is a strong and dedicated advocate for her clients. Her professional philosophy is that every client deserves her undivided attention. Laurin takes on cases she is qualified and skilled to handle. She is never intimidated by other attorneys or their tactics. Her goal is for her clients to benefit from her skills, commitment, and education.
Laurin is a licensed attorney in New York State; and has over 10 years of experience in the legal field. She is also admitted into Federal Court, in the Northern District of New York and Southern District of New York. As a seasoned trial attorney, Laurin has over 10 years of experience in litigation.
After working in larger law firms for several years, Laurin decided to open her own practice so that she could more readily apply her own professional philosophy and goals to each and every case. She has dedicated her career to helping people who have real life issues; as such, Laurin specializes in areas including criminal defense, family and matrimonial, and employment discrimination. She also handles real estate transactions, well, just because it is a personal favorite.
Laurin recognizes that each and every client has various and specific legal needs. There is no such thing as a cookie cutter legal case. Laurin will work with the client, and listen to their needs and wants. She will always work with her client to set case goals and a game plan to reach such goals. Laurin does not believe that she is working alone on any case; instead, she believes that she is always partnering with her client. Laurin values open communication between her and her client. As a client of Laurin's, you will be well informed of the progress and possibilities in every case. Laurin believes that she is successful when a client is educated about the facts and the application of law to his case; and when her clients are able to make good and reasonable decisions throughout the progression of the case.
Laurin grew up outside of Utica, New York. A farmer's daughter, Laurin spent her childhood helping her father work the farm; and enjoying the life experience that only country living can provide. Her family believes a strong community is important to the well being of a family. Her father is a volunteer fireman of over 60 years, and has dedicated his life, in time and risk, to protecting his neighbors.
Equipped with the desire to succeed, Laurin attended undergraduate at Clarkson University, in Potsdam, New York and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Some people would wonder: why anyone would want to attend college in such a cold place? Laurin could not think a better area. Northern New York is a beautiful place to learn.
After graduating from Clarkson University in 1992, Laurin interned for the Honorable Congressman Sherwood Boehlert in his Washington, DC office, and attended classes at Georgetown University, where she learned the ins and outs of lawmaking. It was in this setting that she realized that she wanted to be an attorney.
After moving to the Detroit, Michigan area, Laurin worked as an accountant full time while attending University of Detroit Mercy Law School at night. Laurin graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy Law School in December of 1998 with a Juris Doctorate. Subsequently, she was licensed to practice in Michigan. However, as much as she enjoyed Michigan, she desired to return to Central New York.
Upon arriving to Central New York, Laurin decided to continue the family tradition of community involvement. Laurin is a proud member of the 2007 class of Leadership of Greater Syracuse. She spent several years involved in the development and maintenance of a regional young professional organization. Laurin is currently involved in her neighborhood association, and she is committed to maintaining and improving the quality of city living.
Laurin has a diverse experience in life and work and can't imagine doing anything different than what she does now. Learn for yourself what Laurin is all about and how she can be of assistance to you. Call now.
