LEWIS A. MAZZONE obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at St. John's University, New York City, New York.

Upon graduation, he entered St. John's University's School of Law and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1972, He was a member of St. John's Law Review and St. Thomas More Institute and co-authored articles for publication in The Quarterly Survey of New York Practice 45 St. John's L. Review (1970).

He, additionally, authored Wiretapping and Eavesdropping, 13 Past and Present Journal 9 (Summer, 1970).

He was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney's offices, serving in the Criminal Court: Grand Jury; and Homicide Bureaus, under Burton B. Roberts, the former Administrative Judge of the County of the Bronx and the late Hon. Mario Merola, As a member of the Homicide Bureau, he was responsible for the investigation and prosecution of cases involving murder, manslaughter, and related cases.

He retired from the Bronx District Attorney's Office in 1975 and accepted an appointment as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, New York, headed by Hon. Denis Dillon. His duties included services as a senior trial assistant in the County Court Bureau and Rackets Bureau.

Upon his retirement in 1977 from the Nassau District Attorney's Office, he commenced employment as the head of the Litigation and Trial division of the Law Firm of Walter L. and Robert M. Post, in Hicksville, New York. His duties included supervising trial attorneys in both civil and criminal litigation from 1977 through 1981.

Since 1981, Mr. Mazzone has been in private practice, with offices located in Jericho, New York. He was a faculty member of Adelphi University, Garden City, New York, instructing students in both Legal Research and Writing and Criminal Law, and was employed in such capacity from 1998 through June, 1996.

He is presently associated with Hofstra University as a Senior Affiliated Instructor in the para-legal program, instructing students in Criminal Law and Legal Research and Writing.
