Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
Recently, I obtained a large arbitration award for an international client in the energy industry. It was a very complex case and involved litigation between parties in three countries.
How did you build a successful practice?
I built a successful practice by putting my clients' needs first. I also engage my former clients and ask them to refer their friends and contacts to my law firm.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
The main thing clients should look for in any lawyer is competence. A lawyer should have subject matter expertise involving the legal matter being addressed. The lawyer and client should also share rapport, which makes communication between lawyer and client seamless. Communication is absolutely necessary for an effective representation. Clients should also seek out lawyers who are responsive and generally return calls and emails within 24 hours.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is important in most cases. Attorneys who know the legal environment in their local legal market have an advantage.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I provide 10 to 15 minutes of basic information to assist the potential client in identifying legal issues based on that consultation.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I need the basic facts and concerns that led the client to seek legal advice. A free phone consultation only provides basic information related to a potential client's case and the likely legal issues identified during that phone call.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I have substantial experience in my legal practice areas. I genuinely care for my clients and put their needs before my own. I also work extremely hard to achieve the best result in their cases. I am honest about the likelihood of success and the costs involved to achieve a given legal result.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The most rewarding aspect of my job is helping my clients resolve their legal issue.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I am a classic car enthusiast and like to drive my classic car on the weekends when I have the time.
Are you involved in your community?
Yes. I am a member of the Arlington Grand Prairie, Texas Graduate Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. I am also a member of the Arlington Seventh Day Adventist Church. I am an adult leader in the Scouts BSA organization. I have attended and led leadership training for adult leaders in the scouting movement.
