About Margaret
Richmond criminal defense attorney Margaret B. Davis believes passionately that everyone deserves fair treatment and expert legal representation. As a law student, she interned with the Richmond Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, helping her gain a unique perspective on how the justice system works in Virginia. During law school, Margaret also participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic, in which she defended clients through the Charlottesville Public Defender’s Office. Working for a Fairfax law firm, Margaret has represented clients on all kinds of criminal charges, including marijuana possession, DUI, driving on a suspended/revoked license and more. She also volunteers with Richmond nonprofit Opportunity. Alliance. Reentry. (OAR), assisting previously incarcerated clients with their job search, and teaches group classes at Pamunkey Regional Jail.
I charge only flat fees and do not bill by the hour. I charge very affordable rates. Being charged with a crime is stressful enough. Add extremely hefty legal fees and the situation just becomes even more stressful. Plenty of folks are cash-strapped, and I want those folks to have access to affordable legal representation. Does a low rate mean I won't work hard on your case? Absolutely not! My sole mission is to work to get the best outcome for you, and no amount of money will change my desire to reach the best possible outcome. I have represented indigent court appointed clients which doesn't bring in much money at all, as well as retained paying clients. I am proud to say that I work just as hard on court appointed cases as I do on retained cases. I'm here to help you. Period.
