About Mark

Mark received his Bachelor’s degree in marketing from Pacific Lutheran University in 1988. He also studied international business at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark in 1986. After earning his Bachelor’s degree, Mark worked as an industrial engineer for the Boeing Company, imported jewelry from Poland and worked as a commercial crab fisherman in Alaska. In fact, Mark worked aboard the F/V North American, which is now featured on Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch.” In the late 1990s, Mark enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1999. During law school, he served as a clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
 
Mark began his practice with Carney Badley Smith & Spellman in 2001 then practiced at Smith McKenzie Rothwell & Barlow. He left in 2007, become founding co-partner with his father, Milt Smith, in the Smith Law Partnership LLP.
 
Mark focuses his practice on contracts, corporate law, collections, estate planning and probate and personal injury law. He is admitted to practice in Washington and California and is a member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association.
