About Mark
Mark T. Neil is an Honors graduate of Shimer College and a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law. He served as law clerk to Honorable Howard C. Ryan, Chief Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court, and has had significant experience representing and counseling fiduciaries through his role as Trust Counsel at Harris Trust and Savings Bank. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. Mark founded an independent trust company, built national practices in niche trustee markets, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Trust Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association. Mark presented to the National Academy of Elder Law attorneys and the Chicago Council on Planned Giving. He is a frequent speaker on the Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act. Mark has served on the Treasurer’s Business Roundtable for the Illinois State Treasurer. He concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, and trust administration. Mark is also the author of Planning for Unmarried Couples published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
