About Martin
Marty Lynn is a trial attorney with the Lynn Law Firm. He has extensive experience litigating matters including personal injury actions, toxic torts, negligence actions, insurance coverage disputes, product liability actions, as well as all other types of personal injury claims. He has tried numerous cases to verdict throughout New York State.
Mr. Lynn is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law (J.D. 2004) and the College of the Holy Cross (B.A. 2001) and is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of New York.
Mr. Lynn is a Certified Interior Structural Firefighter and serves as Vice President in the Skaneateles Fire Department, which recognized him as a Distinguished Member in 2017. He is the former Co-Chair of the Judicial Screening Committee for the Central New York Women’s Bar Association and previously served as the organization's Secretary. He is also a former member of the Committee on the Judiciary for the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Civil Practice and Rules. Mr. Lynn is Vice Chairman and Treasurer of the Board of Directors at Tully Hill Chemical Dependency Treatment Center. Finally, he is dedicated to pro bono service and has been recognized on the “Honor Roll” of the Pro Bono Attorneys for the District for the Northern District of New York.
Mr. Lynn has been awarded the Sheldon Hurwitz Young Lawyer Award by the New York State Bar Association, Torts Insurance and Compensation Law Section in recognition for his outstanding contribution to the practice of law in the field of insurance. He is a Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2014 and 2015, a recipient of the “40 Under Forty” award by the CNY Business Journal and author of “Claims-Made Policy Coverage Issues” Chapter of the Insurance Law Practice Update 2016. Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
We have made a significant impact in personal injury law by taking several cases trial and obtaining large jury verdicts. This has allowed us to negotiate good settlements for our clients because the insurance companies know that we are willing and able to take cases to trial.
How did you build a successful practice?
Our personal injury practice has been successful because we build on our proven experience and results. Most of our clients are referred from other lawyers and law firms.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should look for a lawyer with a great reputation and with verifiable trial experience. We keep paper records available at our office of recent trials and settlements.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Having a lawyer who has tried a case in your hometown is a huge advantage. We have tried cases all over Upstate New York and know how to successfully navigate the court system.
