Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I recently helped a woman who was terminated unjustly for two reasons: the employer terminated her for being over 50 and also because she threatened "whistleblowing" activity. After she reported her case to the EEOC, I helped her with the mediation process in federal court and she received a large settlement. I also recently helped a man who had an employment contract with a large company here in Las Vegas. He was terminated and the employer would not live up to the separation terms in the contract. We successfully negotiated an extensive exit package for him according to the terms of the contract. Also, I recently helped a woman here in Las Vegas who filed a charge with the EEOC and was retaliated against by being terminated from a large governmental agency. Again, I helped her through the mediation process in federal court and she received a significant settlement.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I offer free telephone consultations, followed by, if applicable, free 30 minute in person consultations. To be most efficient for both parties, a caller should have a brief statement of the negative job action that is happening to them. I will provide in return a brief statement of the law in that area, and the types of actions that are available to them. Callers must be aware that sometimes there are no actions available to them given the narrow restrictions on employee rights in Nevada.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

KLO is different from other law firms because we take only a few cases and given the clients our 100% focus. All work is done by a certified attorney and we promise that all calls are returned promptly. Employment law is our specialty.
