A founding partner, Matthew Rosen focuses his practice on Family, Domestic Violence, and Matrimonial Law, Municipal and Criminal Defense, and General Litigation.

In addition, Mr. Rosen is currently serving as a Municipal Prosecutor in Hoboken, New Jersey.  For pro-bono advocacy, Mr. Rosen directly represents clients for two prestigious non-profit organizations, Unchained-at-Last, and the Rachel Coalition, helping women in forced and arranged marriages get divorces and/or to escape domestic violence situations.  Mr. Rosen has been named to the Super Lawyer’s Rising Stars list for practice in Family Law in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Mr. Rosen received his Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University and his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University – Newark, where he served in the Rutgers Federal Tax Clinic.  While still in law school, Mr. Rosen twice interned for the New Jersey Superior Court - Family Division.  After graduating law school, Mr. Rosen worked for the distinguished law firm Florio, Perrucci, Steinhardt & Fader as well as for the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General in their Volunteer Attorney Program.

Prior to law school, Mr. Rosen had the unique honor of teaching accounting, business skills, and math to Peru's female indigenous population through a two-year service project with the United States Peace Corps.  As a result, he both understands and speaks Spanish.

During law school, Mr. Rosen sought temporary legal status for immigrant victims of crime through the Law School's externship program with the American Friends Service Committee. As an intern with the UJA-Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York, Mr. Rosen participated in grant writing, facilitated donative transfers, and approached trust and estate law from the perspective of one of the world's largest non-profit charity organizations. Mr. Rosen is proud to have also been a teacher in Rutgers’ acclaimed Street Law program, which brings safe legal discussion, explanation, and conceptual learning to Newark elementary school students.

Mr. Rosen is a proud member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey State Municipal Prosecutor’s Association, the Temple Shalom of Succasunna, NJ Brotherhood, and Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.  He also currently serves on the executive boards of several non-profit organizations of importance to him.

Matthew Rosen is committed to achieving his clients' best possible outcomes by taking an extra second to do the job right.

SAMPLE LEGAL CASES

Does Getting a Document Notarized Make It "Legal"?
The public's perception of what a notary does and what notarization accomplishes is often incorrect. This is particularly the case when a person brings a document to a notary public to be notarized, thinking that the notarization will in some way "legalize" the document or make it "official." Learn more here.
Unmarried? You Are Not Alone, But You Still Need a Plan
Did you know that in many instances, it is even more important that a single person have a well-coordinated estate plan, than a married couple. This is because the default laws governing estates often work poorly for people without a spouse and may not adequately provide for a significant other or unmarried partner. Having a cohesive and well-drafted estate plan will ensure that you protect and provide for those you truly care about upon your death. Learn more here.
When an Adult Needs a Guardian of Property
There are two types of guardianships: a guardianship of the person and a guardianship of the property (also known as a guardianship of the estate or a conservatorship). A guardian of the person is responsible for the ward’s physical safety and well-being. A guardian of the property is responsible for the ward’s money and assets. Learn more here.
