Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I was able to get an OWI dismissed for a client suffering from a mild disability. The client was extremely satisfied and happy with a fantastic result.

How did you build a successful practice?

I have been in private practice in Winnebago County, Wisconsin for approximately 30 years. I have represented literally tens of thousands of clients in a variety of areas of practice. I believe that all clients are entitled to aggressive and competent representation when they are facing a legal problem that will affect their life. I am honest with my clients and work hard to protect their interests.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

A client should look for experience. I have 30 years experience practicing in the Fox Valley in Wisconsin.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

It is always important to know local court rules and the procedures of the county in which you practice. Winnebago County has six judges and multiple court commissioners. Its important to know what the particular judges expect, and how they manage their calendars.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I can provide a great deal of information during a phone consultation. This information would include information regarding expected hearings and what occurs at the hearings, issues pertaining to bond, and evidence gathering and preservation.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I would want contact information and information relevant to the legal matter. In a criminal or OWI context, that would include copies of citations, summons, and criminal complaint.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I am active in the community with a variety of not for profit organizations. I have been in private practice for 30 years.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Successfully defending a client.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I enjoy the outdoors a great deal. When not in court, you can find me at our cottage up in Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin with family and friends; or motorcycling around the countryside.

Are you involved in your community?

I am involved in the community. Currently, I am the Vice President of the Winnebago County Bar Association. I am also on the board of directors for the Oshkosh Humane Society. I had previously been a Kiwanis member for approximately 15 years; and I am a Leadership Oshkosh graduate.
