Attorney Matthew R. Butler joined Keches Law Group in January 2023. Prior to joining Keches Law Group, Butler worked for several general practice and civil litigation firms in Greater Boston since 2007.

Butler represents and advises small businesses and organizations in commercial transactions and business litigation.

With respect to commercial transactions, Butler has a wide array of experience from formation to withdrawal or dissolution, including drafting contracts and other corporate documents, advising businesses on various corporate matters, and representing individuals and businesses in corporate sales, acquisitions, and lending. Regarding business litigation, Butler has represented small businesses and organizations in numerous contract, partnership, insurance, and tenancy disputes, and other business torts in Federal and State courts within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Butler simultaneously received his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Suffolk University Law School and his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree, with a Concentration in Business Law, from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School in 2018. During his time at Suffolk, Butler served as Member and later Associate Executive Editor of the Moot Court Honor Board | Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy.

Butler also attended Northeastern University’s College of Criminal Justice, where he graduated with honors (summa cum laude) and received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Criminal Justice, with a Minor in Law, Policy & Society in 2010. During his time at Northeastern University, Butler was named a Charles Irwin Travelli Scholar, a Member of Golden Key National Honor Society, a Member of National Criminal Justice Honor Society: Alpha Phi Sigma, and winner of the Outstanding Senior Achievement Award.
