Maureen E. Burns leads the insurance defense team. Her practice concentration is primarily in civil litigation, including, but not limited to, negligence, product liability, uninsured/underinsured motorist and insurance coverage. She handles statewide property damage recovery litigation for a major utility. She also has experience in real estate and commercial litigation. Attorney Burns has trial and appellate experience in both State and Federal Courts. Additionally, she has extensive mediation and arbitration experience.
Attorney Burns is a member of the New Haven County and Connecticut Bar Associations, the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association and the DRI. She is has served as an elected representative to the House of Delegates and the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Bar Association, representing the New Haven District. She also serves as a member of the Connecticut Bar Association Standing Committee on Professionalism, serving as Chair 2005-2007. Attorney Burns serves on the Board of Friends of New Haven Legal Services. Attorney Burns is a Court appointed arbitrator for the Superior Court, Judicial District of New Haven. She also served as a Commissioner to the New Haven Parking Authority from 1990 through 1995 and was elected Treasurer from 1991 through 1995.
