About Max
Max has been practicing law in Des Moines for 33 years. Max graduated from Drake Law School in 1976. Max is from Garrison, Iowa, a small town in Eastern Iowa. Max spent the summers of his high school and college years working in various sectors of the construction industry and developed a respect and kinship with working people. Max attended the University of Iowa, served in the Army, and then graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1972. For the last 23 years Max has practiced law with his wife, Susan Ekstrom. Their office is located in the heart of the Court Avenue district and close to the courthouse with plenty of street parking and ramp parking across the street.
Max has handled hundreds of worker's compensation cases for people who have been hurt at work; he has successfully represented people who have been in motorcycle and car accidents; and has helped people who have been denied Social Security claims. His many years of work in the law business have given him a wealth of knowledge about going to court and trying cases and helping people. Max also handles estates by going to probate court to help people sort out wills, trusts, and property.
After hours Max can be found on his bass boat, fly fishing, on his bike, or pheasant hunting with his dog Duke.
