Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
During my 20+ years of practice, I worked on both domestic and international family law cases regarding divorce, custody, adoption, and more. More recently, I've been making a significant dent in cases regarding surrogacy law.

How did you build a successful practice?
I've built my successful practice by being transparent and collaborative with my clients. I work with them to understand their needs while also dictating my abilities in their case. Since no two cases are the same, I assure clients with efficient communication through every part of their personal journey.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should always look for a lawyer that has not only the experience but the charisma for the work. My passion is helping to provide the best possible outcome for clients during the most difficult time.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
What's important is knowing your network. Having practiced in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties, I am familiar with many opposing counsels and judges that take part in family law and other practices. These colleagues challenge my practice as a lawyer and drive me to be better with every case.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
My firm provides clients with a fifteen-minute free phone consultation where we quickly assess if our team may be of help to the prospective client. Valuing and respecting the prospect's time and resources, we do this to allow the prospect to best evaluate if they would like to work with us.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
During the call, we ask the prospective clients about a few details of their case and what they are looking to achieve. Providing dates, case numbers, and documents filed to the court help us know how we can best advise you in your case.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
What differentiates me from my colleagues is my work and involvement in emerging family law subjects such as embryo and surrogacy law. Staying up to date on the current trends in and out of the family law business allows me to prepare for the future ahead.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
By far the most rewarding aspect of working in family law is giving the client a new chance at life, whether it be after divorce, before marriage, or even during adoption.

What are your other interests in addition to law?
Besides my work in family law, I enjoy immersing myself in nature, spending quality time with my family, listening to my daughter's daily highlights from medical school, and going on trips with my dog Abby and my cat Ziva.

Are you involved in your community?
I am involved in many different communities. Find out more about my involvement by visiting https://www.shulmanfamilylawgroup.us/.
