Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I have had numerous clients whose driver's licenses in Missouri had been revoked, some for over 10 years, these clients felt like they had lost their freedom, due to their inability to drive. Through petitioning the department of revenue, we were able to get countless clients facing such suspensions and/or revocations of their driver's license reinstated so that they could get back to having the ability and freedom to drive legally.

How did you build a successful practice?

The biggest compliment I can get is when one of my past clients recommends me to a new client, my practice is largely built on just that. I believe that my track record of being constantly available to my clients and responsive whenever they need me has led countless prior clients to recommend my services to new clients looking for legal representation. I pride myself on working hard to earn the trust and confidence of each and every client, and the best reward for that is being recommended by those clients to someone else seeking an attorney.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for a lawyer who is going to communicate with them throughout each and every stage of their case, one who not only has the knowledge to handle their case but the experience to be able to explain to that client what has happened, what is going to happen, and what could happen. A client must be made aware of all their options, and the consequences of choosing one option over the other, a client cannot make a truly informed decision with regards to their case without an attorney who can competently explain said options and consequences.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge can be very important, there are countless benefits to having an attorney with a wealth of local knowledge, but in order to take advantage of that local knowledge it is often critical that your attorney be greatly respected. An attorney that is not well-respected could have all the local knowledge in the world, but would be stuck with the inability to utilize it.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I mainly handle criminal cases, so when clients call me it is a very stressful and scary time in their lives. I provide information such as explaining the criminal process, it is amazing how just simple knowledge of what to expect at each and every stage of a criminal case, or other case can provide a sense of relief. By walking the client through each of the aspects of a pending case whether it be a misdemeanor, felony, or traffic matter, I establish confidence and trust with the client which is one of the most important aspects of an attorney-client relationship.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

The more information a client can bring to an initial consultation the better informed the attorney can be at that point in time. With more information the attorney will be able to more accurately advise the client and predict the path that each case will take. The less information the client provides to an attorney at initial consultations, there is more risk of unknown and unexpected circumstances arising, which will hinder the attorney from being able to represent the client to the best of his ability.
