Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I represented a lady last year who immigrated from Mexico for a better life. She became a U.S. citizen and taking English lessons and was working at a meat packing plant in Greeley to support her family. She, her husband and children went out to dinner and she slipped on ice outside the restaurant's entrance. She was the primary bread-winner for her family and this fall left her unemployed and the family without means to live on. She could not continue to work with her injuries. I worked hard for her and was able to achieve a settlement for $300,000.00. This allowed her to go to school and get an education to have a career opportunity and helped her family move forward into their new life her in the United States.
How did you build a successful practice?
I try very hard to give every client my best, individual attention and show them I sincerely care about them and their well-being.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
In addition to the obvious need to be effective and successful with insurance companies, look for someone who will be absolutely honest about your case, its value and the good and bad in it. You don't need to be let down by bad advice, even if the case isn't wonderful. My prior experience in having worked FOR the insurance industry for 15 years puts me in the incredibly advantageous position of knowing how to best present a claim to help my clients.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I can provide a general overview of a case value, whether it might be worth pursuing and inherent risks and benefits of retaining an attorney if necessary.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I would need as much information about the underlying incident as possible, client history, the injuries and harms known, what kind of care is being or has been sought, and what the needs and expectations of the potential client are so I can determine how well I may be able to help.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
In the Personal Injury community, I am rare, because I worked FOR the insurance industry for 15 years before I was fed up with how the insurance companies treated the public when claims were made. Those many years of defense work for insurers taught me how they process claims, about their behavior, what they focus upon and defend against claims, which I can use now for my clients' benefit in knowing how best to pursue their claims in the most effective manner. I now utilize those many years working within the defense industry, for the benefit of my clients.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Knowing I can help people and give them the opportunity to take charge of their lives again.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I played Rugby on the national level for 14 years which is a part of my competitive spirit. I also volunteer helping other lawyers and the public recover from alcohol and substance abuse issues. For fun, I enjoy hiking, trail running, mountain biking, golf and yes, even yard work…!
Are you involved in your community?
Yes I am. I volunteer helping other lawyers and the public recover from alcohol and substance abuse issues.
