About Michael

Mr. Campbell leads the litigation practice of Miller, Miller & Canby and has been with the firm since 1997. He became an equity partner in the firm in 2005. He focuses his practice on real estate and commercial disputes in state and federal courts in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia and before arbitration panels. He handles cases relating to construction projects, leases, real estate contests, property tax appeals, contract disputes and other business and personal disputes. Mr. Campbell has resolved many such disputes through mediation and private negotiation and successfully tried more than 100 cases before judges, juries and arbitrators.

Mr. Campbell regularly pursues property tax appeals with local assessment offices, the Property Tax Assessment Appeals Board (PTAAB), and the Maryland Tax Court. He has successfully reduced tax assessments on many types of commercial properties, including office buildings, retail stores, industrial sites, medical buildings, assisted living facilities and apartment complexes. In the process, he has developed relationships with representatives of The Department of Assessment and Taxation, which help facilitate the appeal process.  

Before joining Miller, Miller & Canby, Mr. Campbell served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Paul A. McGuckian in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. He serves on the Board of Directors for Child Center and Adult Services, Inc. and is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Virginia Beta, Inc.
