How did you build a successful practice?

Building a successful practice is all about listening to the needs of clients and presenting their options.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Look for a lawyer who is willing to listen. A good strategy is one tailored to the client's needs and goals. A lawyer should present all options to the client, including those that do not include hiring the lawyer.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge is extremely important. Even in a small state like Delaware, things can be done very differently in each county.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

A phone consultation is a great way to explore whether to sit down and discuss an issue in-depth. At the same time, there is no better way to determine whether to move forward than to sit down face to face. Every case is different.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Many lawyers tend to focus on small areas of the law. As someone experienced as both a criminal prosecutor and as a civil practitioner, I am able to provide unique insight to the handling of a case.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping people is the most rewarding aspect of my job. Cases can affect clients' lives in many ways, and few people wish to be involved in the judicial system. I strive to turn that experience into a positive one.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Fishing, snowboarding, going to the beach with family.
