About Michael
Michael Lowenberg has been an attorney with The O'Quinn Law Firm since January 1998. He began working with the firm in October, 1996, as a law clerk for the Honorable Mike O'Brien. Mr. Lowenberg's docket includes products liability, toxic torts, medical malpractice and general commercial and personal injury litigation cases. He has also been appointed several times as a guardian ad litem in civil cases.
Additionally, Mr. Lowenberg is in charge of the firm's product liability cases involving the recall of Sulzer Orthopedic Inter-Op Acetabular Shell Hip Implants. These recalled medical devices are now the subject of the Class Action Settlement in the litigation known as In re: Sulzer Hip Prosthesis and Knee Prosthesis Product, MDL No. 1401, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin in 1995, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Engineering Route to Business, he obtained his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in December of 1997. Mr. Lowenberg is admitted to practice before the State Bar of Texas, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Texas.
Mr. Lowenberg has been a member of the American Inns of Court (Garland Walker Inn of Court) since 2002. He has also been a guest lecturer at universities on subjects including the practice of law, ethics and business litigation.
Since 1994, Mr. Lowenberg has volunteered for the Sun Bowl Association on the Pac-10 Football Host Committee for the New Year's Eve collegiate football game in El Paso, Texas. He is a Football Letterman (T-Man) from the University of Texas for the 1991 to 1993 football seasons.
