About Michael
Michael Steinle focuses his practice in the area of criminal law. His criminal defense practice includes representation of individuals charged with a broad range of serious criminal offenses. He has experience with a multitude of criminal defense matters which extend to complex, multi-defendant Federal and State prosecutions, including, but not limited to; drug cases, homicide, sexual assault and white collar crimes, including individuals and businesses in a wide variety of fields, throughout the State of Wisconsin.
Michael earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1985, his undergraduate degree from Marquette University and is licensed to practice in Wisconsin as well as Federal Courts throughout the United States. He was also admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court in June, 2003.
Michael has served as a District II Committee member of the State of Wisconsin's Office of Lawyer Regulation for nine years and served as it's chair in 2006. Michael has been selected by his peers to be included in the 2005 edition of Best Lawyers in America and has been reselected each consecutive year. Michael has also been recognized as one of Wisconsin Super Lawyers in 2005 and 2006 as well as being recognized in Milwaukee Magazine as one of Milwaukee's Best Criminal Lawyers.
Michael was certified as a fellow in the American Board of Criminal Lawyers in 2005 and remains an active member in the national organization. He also has taught many courses in the area of criminal law for Wisconsin's Continuing Legal Education system. He is also a member of the State Bar Association, Milwaukee Bar Association, Waukesha Bar Association and the Wisconsin Eastern District Court Bar Association.
Michael is actively involved in his community of Elm Grove, Wisconsin. He is presently a member of the Elm Grove Police and Fire Commission.
