Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
Last year, we had a client that was hurt in a bicycle accident. The insurance company offered her $160,000.00 to settle her case. The client was real happy about the offer and wanted to take it. However, we felt the offer was not sufficient. As such, we convinced the client not to take the offer and let us continue with the case. Eventually, we were able to settle the case for $1,215,000.00. We are happy the client listened to our advice. Earlier this year, a husband and wife came to us after they were with another law firm for 2 years. They were offered $3,500 and $15,000 to settle their case while with that other firm. Again, we did not think the offer was sufficient. Later, we were able to settle both cases for $100,000 each.
How did you build a successful practice?
We really like our clients and want the best for them. We still are in contact with clients from 2010.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
A client should look to see if the lawyer or firm actually listens to the client. Also, the lawyer should be knowledgeable about all types of injuries. Client's injuries are always different and they should be treated accordingly. There is no cookie cutter for responding to a client's injuries.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Very important. We want to know how a jury would react to each case. A jury in Los Angeles is different than a jury in Riverside. Also, we want to make sure we know the medical providers in the area. Some medical providers have good reputation in the area whereas some have terrible reputation and this would hurt your case.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
We can provide our recommendation of treatment. Who would be the best to treat the client's injuries. Also, we would be able to ascertain if the accident is a good case to go forward with.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
We would need to know how the incident took place. Where the incident took place. What injuries the client has and whether or not they have insurance.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
We actually care about our clients. Our clients are not a number to us. We also have vast knowledge of the medical field and we also take cases to trial.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
When we see a client happy with the results of the case.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
We are very active in the outdoors. We like to hike and go to the beach.
Are you involved in your community?
Very active. We are involved with a local homeless shelter. We also are involved with the deaf community.
