About Michelle
Ms. O’Neal is a skilled trial attorney, with tremendous tort litigation and appeals experience in the areas of automobile accidents, medical malpractice, personal injury, insurance law, products liability, construction accidents, gas explosions, drug and medical device litigation, wrongful death, and birth injuries.
Michelle Boehm O'Neal was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She received a B.A. in Political Science from Southern Illinois University in 1992 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997. An exemplary student, Ms. O'Neal became a member of the Missouri Law Review in 1995 and was chosen to serve as the Law Review's Associate Editor-in-Chief in 1996-1997. While in law school, Michelle was the recipient of the Missouri Law Review Alumni Scholarship. In addition, she was a member of the 1995 Missouri Client Counseling Team and the Missouri Appellate Moot Court Team in 1996 and 1997. Ms. O'Neal was also a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and served as its social chairperson from 1995-1996. In 1997, the University of Missouri awarded Michelle the Roscoe Anderson Award for Excellence in Moot Court.
Ms. O'Neal graduated from The University of Missouri School of Law in 1997 and was admitted to the Missouri Bar later that year. Upon her graduation, Michelle began her legal practice working on insurance law, medical malpractice, and creditor's rights with a large law firm in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2000, she joined SBC Communications, Inc., where she served as corporate counsel for two years before joining The Hershewe Law Firm, P.C. Since joining our team, Ms. O'Neal has earned several multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for her clients. She currently lives in southwest Missouri with her husband and four children.
In 2004, Ms. O'Neal was named by Missouri Lawyer's Weekly as one of Missouri's "Up and Coming Lawyers." In 2006, the Missouri Bar awarded her the David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award for her outstanding achievements in appellate practice. Michelle was also selected by Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star".
Michelle is also being honored at this year’s Women’s Justice Awards scheduled for April 25, 2013, at The Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis. Michelle will be receiving the 2013 Litigation Practitioner Award which is given to women trial practitioners who improve the quality of justice or contribute to the betterment of the legal profession.
