About Mimi
Mimi Turney joined The Wochner Law Firm in September of 2003. She is a 1979 graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she earned an A.B. in Art History, and where she was elected to the Zeta Chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
Ms. Turney went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Northwestern University in 1983. While there, she was actively involved in Northwestern's Legal Clinic, now known as the Bluhm Legal Clinic. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1983, and practiced at the firm of Hopkins and Sutter in the area of corporate litigation.
Ms. Turney left the practice of law for a number of years in order to be a full-time mother to her two boys. During that time, she was very active in community affairs, serving first on the board of Youth Guidance, a Chicago-based social service agency, where she organized and ran the agency's fund raising special events. She has also been active in the Midwest Youth Sailing Association, and the Parent's Association of Lake Forest Academy, where she served as President in her son's senior year. Ms. Turney is also an active Hospice Volunteer.
