About Myles
Myles H. Malman is the Managing Director of the Firm of Malman, Malman & Rosenthal in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He specializes in the area of criminal and civil litigation, and maintains an extensive national white collar criminal practice including securities and health care fraud.
Myles served as Deputy First Assistant and Special Counsel to the United States Attorney of the Southern District of Florida during his lengthy career as a Federal prosecutor. In one of the several high profile roles Myles undertook, he was co-lead counsel in the case of United States v. Manuel Antonio Noriega. In 1992, he received the Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service in recognition of outstanding litigation skills. He is also the recipient of six Department of Justice Superior Achievement Awards for Outstanding Performance.
Myles has tried a number of complex, well-known cases in South Florida and other courts in the United States. Over the years, he has also led and participated in a number of high profile civil cases including the silicone breast implant, tobacco, General Motors pickup truck class action litigations, and others.
Myles has handled numerous negotiations in cases involving multi-million dollar settlements. He has represented and negotiated contracts and business deals for professional players in the National Hockey League and the National Football League. He has also served as a court-appointed arbitrator in numerous business litigations for the Chief Administrative Judge in the Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Myles managed a 200-lawyer office as Deputy First Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. As Special Counsel to three United States Attorneys, he has tried major cases, acted as advisor in complex litigation, obtained convictions in complicated federal cases, and handled the only successful Federal Civil Rights Act prosecution in the Southern District of Florida.
Myles serves on the faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy at Hofstra University Law School and also taught the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program at Widener University Law School. In addition, he has lectured in criminal and civil trial practice and Florida Criminal Procedure for the WestBar Review Course. Myles also appeared on national television as an expert in legal matters and consulted on major Hollywood motion picture projects.
Myles was born in New York City and served as Assistant District Attorney for ten years as well as Senior Trial Attorney and advisor to the legendary Manhattan District Attorney, Robert M. Morgenthau. In that office, he was one of six senior trial attorneys on a staff of over 400 lawyers. He received his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School (1974). Myles has testified before Congress on criminal justice issues and is a member of the Florida, New York and Pennsylvania bars. Myles Malman has earned the coveted AV rating in the Martindale-Hubbell legal directory.
In the 1960s, he served in the United States Army Military Police Corps in Vietnam.
