Our founding partner, attorney James E. Kleinbaum, has been practicing law since 1994. As an experienced traffic and criminal defense lawyer, he has helped thousands of clients throughout New York protect their freedom, record and driver's licenses. As an experienced negotiator and trial lawyer, Mr. Kleinbaum has helped many businesses and individuals in civil disputes, including landlord tenant disputes and contractual disputes. Attorney Kleinbaum is pleased to assist local business owners with commercial collections and he has extensive experience in the representation of buyers, seller and lenders in real estate closings.

Michael Rose has spent his entire career representing accident victims. He has tried numerous cases to verdict and settled many claims resulting in tens of millions of dollars in recovery for clients. Many of these cases have resulted in seven-figure jury verdicts and settlements. During a recent six-month time span, Mr. Rose tried three cases; each independently resulted in a seven-figure jury verdict. In both 2010 and 2011 he was responsible for securing four of the top one hundred personal injury results in the State of New York for personal injury claims as reported by the New York Jury Verdict Reporter. In 2012 he was responsible for securing the largest jury verdict in the State of New York for Construction Site Accidents as reported by the New York Jury Verdict Reporter. This jury verdict was in excess of thirteen million dollars.

Steven Felsenfeld, Esq., the sole member of Felsenfeld Legal, PLLC, has been admitted to the NYS Bar since 1996 and is also admitted to the Eastern and Southern Districts of the Federal Courts of New York, as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He maintains membership in the American Bar Association and its section on Labor & Employment Law and Alternate Dispute Resolution. An excellent legal researcher, writer, and orator; as appellate counsel, he has briefed and argued on many occasions and engaged in a broad array of litigation, not limited to commercial as well as Labor and Employment law, including civil rights and sexual harassment claims. He has represented numerous clients in arbitration and mediation and is qualified as a neutral in arbitration and mediation having sat on dozens of such matters. Experiences in Labor and Employment include his research, guidance, and appearances before the EEOC, SDHR, and with regard to UI, WC, Title VII, ADEA, ADA, NLRA, ERISA, FLSA, and OSHA, and ADR; as well as planning and participating in Union Negotiations. His strong business background includes six years of experience in cost and management accounting.

Martin Garbus has a diverse practice that consists of individuals and companies involved in politics, media, entertainment, and the arts. His courtroom skills have earned him a distinguished reputation as a trial lawyer. He has argued cases throughout the country involving constitutional, criminal, copyright, and intellectual property law. An international observer in foreign elections, he was selected by President Jimmy Carter to observe and report on the elections in Venezuela and Nicaragua. Mr. Garbus also participated in drafting several constitutions and foreign laws, including the Czechoslovak constitution. He also has been involved in prisoner exchange negotiations between governments. He is the author of six books and over 30 articles in The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Los Angeles Times. Mr. Garbus is featured in Shouting Fire, an award-winning documentary film about his life and career. He received the Fulbright Award for his work on International Human Rights in 2010. In 2014, University College Dublin's' Literary and Historical Society honored Mr. Garbus with the James Joyce Award for Excellence in Law, which is also the same year Trinity College awarded him for his human rights and free speech work. Mr. Garbus has also taught trial practice at Yale Law School and Constitutional law at Columbia. He has also taught classes in Beijing, China, and Prague, Czech Republic. He has lived and practiced in China and Italy as well as the United States. He authored six books and numerous articles that have appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times and numerous legal publications. Mr. Garbus has given hundreds of speeches on various aspects of law before Bar Associations, corporations, law schools, and on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, and other television and radio networks. Martin Garbus’ devotion to ethics, justice, free speech, and the law has garnered enormous respect within the legal community, commercial and corporate sectors, and beyond. His numerous honors include designation in Who’s Who in America, a Profile in the New York Times, inclusion in Who’s Who in Best Lawyers in America, awards from his law school and college, and praise from his numerous high-profile clients.

Mr. Benno is an appellate and constitutional law attorney. He began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where he served in both the trial division and the appeals bureau. Upon leaving government service, Mr. Benno worked at a premier civil litigation law firm where he focused on civil rights matters in both state and federal courts. In 2009, Mr. Benno opened his own law practice. Mr. Benno is admitted to the New York and Connecticut state bars, and is admitted to practice in the federal courts of the Southern, Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of New York as well as the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second and Third Circuit. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. From 2006 through 2012, Mr. Benno was an adjunct professor at New York Law School, where he taught Appellate Advocacy and Legal Reasoning and Writing. Mr. Benno regularly lectures for bar associations and continuing legal education providers on topics having to do with constitutional law, appellate advocacy, and trial practice. Mr. Benno has been selected for inclusion in New York Super Lawyers for the last 10 years in the areas of First Amendment and civil rights law. Mr. Benno received his B.A. degree with honors from Johns Hopkins University, and his law degree from Cornell Law School.

Tucker C. Stanclift was born and raised in Lake Placid, N.Y. Tucker played ice hockey there and graduated from Lake Placid Central School in 1990. He received his undergraduate degree from St. Bonaventure University and earned a law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. Tucker is a proud father of three boys and lives in Queensbury, N.Y. He enjoys boating on Lake George with his kids in the summer. Tucker is the founding principal of Stanclift Law, PLLC, PC. He focuses his practice area in criminal law, DWI’s, civil litigation, personal injury and vehicle and traffic law. Tucker is known for his aggressive — yet compassionate — representation of his clients. He is dedicated to the legal profession and is active in the New York State Bar Association where he held a former chair of the Young Lawyers Section and is a current officer of the Criminal Justice Section. Within the community, Tucker is active in the Theater. He previously studied Shakespeare at Oxford University and enjoys live performance.
