Matthew J. Fogelman is a founding partner of Fogelman Law LLC. Mr. Fogelman’s litigation practice is focused on employment law and personal injury cases. He is an experienced trial lawyer, having won a number of significant cases on behalf of plaintiffs, including prevailing before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in a ground-breaking disability discrimination case involving an employee’s right to use medical marijuana off-site. Mr. Fogelman also reached a settlement in a catastrophic personal injury case for $11.5 million, one of the largest settlement in Massachusetts in 2024. Mr. Fogelman has also prevailed on a race and gender discrimination case in Middlesex County for $2.5 million, and on an age discrimination case in Norfolk County, securing a $1.2 million verdict at trial for his client. The firm also recently settled a wrongful death / dram shop case for $2.2 million at mediation. For his work on the Barbuto medical marijuana employment case, Mr. Fogelman was named one of the “Lawyers of the Year” for 2017 by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly; he also received the award for most outstanding 2017 “Professional Achievement” of any member by USA500, a prominent networking group of lawyers and other professionals, out of 650 members. For eight consecutive years (2018-2025), Mr. Fogelman has been selected as a “Top 100 Super Lawyer” for both Massachusetts and New England, a distinction received by only 100 lawyers out of nearly 44,000 lawyers in Mass. and nearly 80,000 in New England. In the employment arena, Mr. Fogelman has litigated cases ranging from Wage Act and overtime cases to discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation matters. He has significant experience advising employees on non-compete and severance agreements. In the personal injury realm, Mr. Fogelman has extensive experience litigating complex personal injury cases and emotionally-charged cases, including allegations of sexual abuse and wrongful death, as well as car collisions, slip-and-falls, and dog bites, among many others. Mr. Fogelman is the current Vice President of the prestigious Massachusetts Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA), the leading plaintiffs’ lawyer group in the state. He will serve as President starting in the summer of 2026.

Joe McKenna focuses his practice upon the litigation of Worker’s Compensation claims and Social Security Disability claims. The son of a union plumber, Joe predominantly represents workers from the building trades and utility industries who have suffered serious injuries. Such injuries range from electrocution, traumatic brain injuries and heart attacks to muscular/skeletal injuries. Joe has lectured widely before both union and non-union groups on the worker’s compensation statute. He is the author of a “Handbook for Injured Workers in Massachusetts” and a perennial recipient of Martindale – Hubbell’s highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards. Prior to joining Segal Roitman in 1996, Joe worked in the worker’s compensation department of Wynn and Wynn, P.C. for approximately eight years. Joe also served a clerkship for the late William Joseph Patrick Cleary, administrative judge at the Department of Industrial Accidents.

Attorney Giordano started his career in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in its New York Regional Office. There, he participated in civil and administrative actions against broker-dealers and registered representatives for violations of federal securities laws; and conducted discovery and administrative investigations. ‍ After his employment with the SEC in New York City, between the 1980’s and the early 1990’s, he worked as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of New Jersey where he investigated and prosecuted federal criminal matters with a concentration on federal securities fraud violations; presented evidence and witnesses before the U.S. Grand Jury. ‍ Attorney Giordano entered private practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in early 1990’s and acted as principal in various law firms for over three decades. In May 2005, Attorney Giordano along with Attorney Reed opened their law firm, Reed & Giordano, P.A. ‍ Attorney Giordano deals with various areas of commercial and complex litigation, securities litigation, arbitration and many more. He has over thirty years of experience representing businesses and individuals in a wide variety of legal disputes and transactions. Attorney Giordano is experienced in all phases of civil and commercial litigation, including trial and appellate practice in state and federal courts. Attorney Giordano is experienced in representing both individuals and companies in complex commercial matters, including shareholder disputes, buyouts, fraud and claims involving breach of fiduciary duty.

Attorney David Hass represents cases and clients in the area of Personal Injury. Attorney Robert N. Launie graduated from Boston College High School in 1974 and Boston College in 1978. After working in-house for a large union masonry company in many different capacities for four years, he decided he would follow his dream of being a litigator and attend law school. Attorney Launie entered New England School of Law, in the evening program while still working his day job for the union masonry company, graduating in 1986 with his entering class. While at New England School of Law, he interned as a Rule 303 prosecutor in the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office handling numerous prosecutions. Attorney Launie was always drawn to trial work and started his own practice doing court-appointed criminal defense work in various district courts, in Middlesex, Norfolk, and Bristol counties. In the early '90’s, Attorney Launie was hired to defend individuals accused of serious crimes and was charged with assembling defense teams for their representation as well as actively participating in the defense of many high-profile cases. Over a 30-year career, Attorney Launie has appeared in both District and Superior Courts, as well as the Federal Courts throughout New England. In 1997, Attorney Launie began working with Attorney Paul V. Marino. After a few years of practicing together, Attorney Launie and Attorney Marino formed Launie & Marino, P.A., in 1999. Together they have expanded their practice to the areas of business litigation, business transactions, family law, as well as counseling and strategic planning for small businesses. Bob has been practicing law for twenty-nine years and is licensed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. Bob attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated with degrees in Business Administration with minors in Economics and Philosophy. He subsequently completed his legal training at the University of Maine School of Law, graduating with his law degree in May 1988. He is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and the First circuit Federal District Court. Bob has been a member of the SSJM team since 1988. During Bob’s first decade as a lawyer, he primarily litigated commercial, business, personal injury and family law disputes. The financial and emotional cost of the traditional litigation model to Bob’s clients has caused him to redirect his professional energy. Although Bob frequently litigates appropriate cases, he now guides clients toward a collaborative and peaceful solution to their legal problems. In the collaborative method, clients maintain control, reduce legal fees and the emotional turmoil associated with litigation, all while maintaining privacy which does not exist in the litigation model. Bob is a member of the Mass.
