About Nicholas
Though born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Nick has spent the vast majority of his life in the Central Florida area. A two-time graduate of the University of Central Florida (Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Legal Studies in 2003, and a Master of Public Administration degree in 2005), in 2006, Nick pursued his legal education at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law, in Downtown Orlando.
While in law school, Nick prosecuted criminal cases as a Certified Legal Intern for the Office of the State Attorney, Ninth Judicial Circuit. There, he developed practical advocacy skills and attention to detail that form the basis of his legal acumen today.
After gaining admission to the Florida Bar, Nick partnered with Orange County Bar Association Legal Aid and Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida to provide legal representation to numerous Central Florida residents across a broad range of issues, including garnishment, landlord-tenant, defense of student loan and credit card lawsuits, and bankruptcy. It was during this time that Nick developed a passion for helping consumers faced with debt-related challenges.
In 2011, Nick took a position working of Counsel for a small law firm in Kissimmee, which provided him with additional opportunities to provide relief to consumers. There, he received significant exposure to foreclosure litigation, helping clients in court through defense of the foreclosure action, and out of court by actively working with lenders to find and exercise non-judicial remedies.
Seeking to provide clients with a better overall experience, while focusing on areas of law for which he has a passion, Nick and his wife Miriam, co-founded Jones & Jones Law, P.L., with the mission to help everyday people with everyday problems. As the lead attorney for Jones & Jones Law, P.L., Nick is admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Florida Bar. Helping people is, and always will be, Nick’s top priority.
