About Nicholas
Nicholas M. Monaco was born in St. Louis, Missouri April 1930, admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1958; U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit in 1979; and to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit in 1989, and to the U.S. Supreme Court, 1989. His education includes an A.B. in 1952 and Juris Doctorate in 1958 both from the University of Missouri. His accomplishments include Phi Delta Phi, Order of Barristers, Author of "The Missouri Suicide Statute," The St. Louis Bar Journal, 1962; Editor 1979 and 1986 and Contributing Author and Planner 1976-1986, Missouri Insurance Practice Manual; Member, Legal Staff, 1958-1960, and Chief Counsel, 1960-1962, and Acting Superintendent of the Missouri Division of Insurance; Member Society of Financial Examiners; Member, Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society; Member, Jefferson City Charter Commission, 1969; Member, Board of Directors and Secretary, Federation of Regulatory Counsel. Mr. Monaco is a member of the Cole County and American Bar Associations, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, The Missouri Bar, Chairman of the Insurance Committee of the Missouri Bar, 1977-1979, Society of Insurance Examiners, Defense Research and Trial Lawyers Association, and Missouri Society of Hospital Attorneys. Mr. Monaco's concentration of practice is in corporate, insurance, and regulation law
