About O.
O. Russel Murray. Mr. Murray is a business litigation and corporate transaction attorney with over 30 years of experience. After receiving his LLM from Northwestern University Law School in 1977, Russel began his career as a trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, in Washington, D.C., where he also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. In 1980, he returned to Denver with a large law firm, where he practiced until he and Mr. Downey formed Downey & Murray. Mr. Murray's litigation and arbitration experience ranges from complex multi-district antitrust litigation, to contract disputes, real estate and construction matters, telecommunications, oil and gas, and securities fraud. He has also served as transaction counsel on multi-million dollar real estate, business, and oil and gas acquisitions and divestitures, including several large projects in Latin America. His experience in real estate matters includes commercial and residential development projects and related matters. More recently, Mr. Murray has become one of the leading business and commercial Alternative Dispute Resolution professionals in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region and has published numerous articles on ADR and is the author of a book: The Mediation Handbook: Effective Strategies for Litigators (Bradford Publishing 2006).
