About Pablo

Attorney Pablo Tamayo has extensive experience as a trial lawyer in South Florida. He spent over three years as a prosecutor in Miami-Dade County where he developed his trial skills. Upon his departure from the office, Katherine Fernandez Rundle, State Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit of Miami-Dade County, commended Pablo for his trial preparation on all of his homicide, traffic homicide and armed robbery cases as well as for demonstrating a fine work ethic while often being the first attorney in his division to arrive to work and the last to leave. As a prosecutor, Pablo handled a wide variety of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanor and DUIs, juvenile matters (misdemeanor and felony), to all types of felonies, including sexual assault, armed robbery and murder. He has tried numerous jury trials to verdict including misdemeanors such as Battery, Criminal Mischief and several DUIs, and felonies such as Drug Trafficking, Armed Drug Trafficking with a Firearm, Aggravated Battery, and Armed Burglary with a Firearm. Pablo was recruited from the state attorney’s office to work with a prominent former prosecutor and state legislator – Miguel de Grandy – where he honed his trial skills and developed important governmental and community relationships. From there, Pablo went on to work at a well-known local law firm where he represented local governments and municipalities and focused his practice on prosecuting civil asset forfeitures on behalf of various police departments in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Pablo is a native of Miami where he was born and raised in the South Miami area. He attended high school at Ransom Everglades in Coconut Grove and went away to college at Fairfield University in Connecticut where he was a 4-year scholarship baseball player and team-voted captain, before returning to Miami to attend St. Thomas University School of Law. In addition to establishing local ties to the community, Pablo also had the benefit of interning and clerking for judges at the 11th Circuit Criminal Court and with the state attorney’s office before accepting his position as prosecutor in 2007.

Questions & Answers

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

A client should always look to develop a good rapport with his/her attorney. I believe it's important that each client has great trust and feels entirely comfortable with the attorney he/she chooses to represent him/her. It also benefits the client to do some due diligence and research a few attorneys before attending a consultation. This can help prepare the client to ask the right questions of the attorney when they meet in person.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I care about each and every one of my clients and I take pride in keeping my clients informed and making myself available for communication. I have stood in the shoes of a prosecutor and understand what it takes to build a case from the ground up. I use that knowledge and my passion as a litigator to help put together a winning game-plan for each of my clients.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Making a difference in my clients' lives. Many times, my clients find themselves in difficult situations in life, whether they are being accused of a crime or whether they have been injured in an accident. I take great pride in helping them through their challenging times and always striving to achieve the best possible result for them.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I am a former college athlete and still a huge sports fan today. You may find me at a HEAT, Hurricanes, Dolphins, or Marlins game, depending on the season. I also like to stay fit and work out and I've actually participated in a few sprint triathlons.
